As the Director Product Strategy Outdoor, you will be spearheading On’s product strategy for the Outdoor footwear space. You will be the visionary and architect behind developing this huge growth area further with a high performing team of product and franchise managers and be responsible for captivating our consumer and communities from trail to street. Your mission is to seamlessly bridge high-performance outdoor footwear with lifestyle appeal, catering to a diverse range of consumers who demand excellence both on the trail and in urban settings. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader with a deep understanding of both high-performance outdoor footwear and the lifestyle market. Your background should demonstrate a successful track record of product innovation, market acumen, and leadership.

Your Mission

  • Craft and execute a compelling business plan that will continue to elevate our Outdoor category that aligns with On's overall brand strategy and growth objectives.
  • Lead the category's strategic direction, focusing on innovation, market trends, and consumer insights.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to market. Direct the development of a coherent and competitive product portfolio that meets the needs of our target consumers and stands out in the marketplace.
  • Dive deep into market research to understand the evolving landscape of high-performance and lifestyle footwear. Identify emerging trends, consumer behaviors, and potential opportunities to ensure our products meet and exceed market demands.
  • Collaborate closely with design and development, innovation, marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive connection between all. Serve as the pivotal bridge between technical innovation and marketable products.
  • Monitor and analyze category performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Leverage data to make informed decisions that drive growth and market share.

Your story

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in product management or product development, with a significant portion of that time spent in the outdoor/running footwear industry. Proven experience in bridging technical performance products with lifestyle appeal.
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of leading cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding products. Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams towards a unified vision.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and business planning skills. Ability to envision the future of the Outdoor Footwear category and chart a course to achieve that vision.
  • Deep understanding of the outdoor footwear market, including consumer trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements. Ability to translate insights into actionable product strategies.
  • A passion for innovation and a knack for identifying and implementing creative solutions that meet consumer needs and drive category growth.
  • Excellent communication in english and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate vision, strategy, and complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
