As a fast growing sportswear brand on the planet, On is gaining new fans with ever-increasing momentum. We are looking for a Head of Communications for APAC, based in Shanghai, to join our Global Communications team, to drive corporate communications in the region. This role is an exciting challenge for experienced communicators who want to help shape the narrative of a high profile global brand as we continue to grow our visibility and perception, focusing on the APAC region and reporting directly to On’s Chief Communications Officer.

Your Mission

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that align with our overall global narrative and help actively shape the perception and reputation of On.
  • Manage media relations and build strong relationships with key journalists, key opinion leaders, and industry stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of corporate messages and stories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local government entities and stakeholders, acting as a liaison to navigate community engagement and compliance matters.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling press materials, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, linking in with the global communications team, proactively addressing issues and protecting the brand's and company’s reputation across all channels.
  • Organize and manage press events, also work in close collaboration with marketing on product launches, and other promotional activities to elevate brand awareness while communicating corporate milestones and initiatives.
  • Seek appropriate speaking opportunities at industry conferences, events, and panels to elevate the brand's profile and showcase leadership in the sports and innovation sector.
  • Manage agencies across different strategic locations to help deliver on goals in respective markets in the APAC region.

    Your story

    • A minimum of 15 years of experience in communications, with a focus on corporate and/or brand communications, preferably within the sports, retail or FMCG sectors.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
    • Strong network of media contacts and relationships with key influencers in both corporate and industry sectors.
    • Common sense and experience in building local government relations and effective liaison within the community.
    • Solid understanding of digital media, social media platforms, and their role in modern communications for both corporate and brand messaging.
    • Highly experienced in providing communications support to senior executives.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage various stakeholders, multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines, as well as working under pressure. Well versed in working in global organizations, with experience of collaborating and delivering on goals across multiple countries.
    • Creative thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for sports and an active lifestyle.
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
