Senior Specialist - Sustainability Compliance

As a Senior Specialist, this role is a driving force behind On’s compliance readiness in a rapidly evolving global sustainability regulatory landscape. It involves researching and interpreting complex requirements, translating them into clear, actionable roadmaps, and ensuring teams understand what needs to happen and by when. The role also covers communicating regulatory updates and deadlines, and designing and delivering targeted training for teams responsible for execution.

Your Mission

  • Research and analyze emerging global sustainability regulations and distill requirements.
  • Conduct readiness assessments and translate obligations into clear, actionable roadmaps.
  • Prepare and support delivery of targeted training and capacity-building programs to empower execution teams with the necessary knowledge for compliance.
  • Prepare internal communication updates (e.g., newsletters, internal announcements) to inform internal stakeholders about new regulatory requirements and key compliance deadlines.
  • Represent On in relevant external memberships, industry associations, and working groups. Gather and synthesize external insights to proactively benchmark and continually enhance On’s sustainability compliance approach.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.

    Your story

    • A genuine passion for sustainability and creating impact within a global business context.
    • University degree in Sustainability, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience monitoring, analysing, and translating global sustainability regulations, including product sustainability (e.g. ESPR) and supply chain due diligence (e.g. forced labour laws).
    • Experience in the consumer goods sector, ideally within footwear, apparel, or complex manufacturing environments, with exposure to global supply chains.
    • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments and able to adapt to change.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build alignment, secure buy-in, and support effective capability building.
    • A careful and thorough approach to work; experience from legal or compliance environments is a plus.
    • Fluency in English; German or another major European language is a plus.

We are the strategic hub, setting the direction and pace for corporate impact by defining priorities, targets, and policies. We act as internal educators and enablers, providing tools and training, and then amplify our progress through clear communication internally and externally.
