In short

We are looking for a Head of Non-Financial Reporting to architect a world-class reporting ecosystem that harmonizes our regulatory requirements and positions sustainability at the heart of our financial and strategic decision-making. Your goal is to ensure our environmental and social impacts are reported in the same precision and rigor as our financial statements, and take our reporting capabilities to the next level to make transparency a lived capability that evolves at the pace of one of the fastest-growing premium sportswear brands in the world. You will serve as a strategic business partner, bridging finance and sustainability, while building investor confidence in our non-financial performance and disclosures.

Your Mission

Non-Financial Disclosure & Compliance

  • Own non-financial reporting (NFR), by developing and executing On's comprehensive multi-year NFR strategy aligned with Swiss Code of Obligations (CO), EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and other emerging disclosure requirements.
  • Lead the production of the annual Non-Financial Report, translating complex sustainability data into clear, transparent insights for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Monitor external regulatory landscape for emerging non-financial reporting requirements and proactively advise the business on compliance implications.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Sustainability, Legal and Finance) to ensure NFR disclosures are seamlessly integrated into reporting cycles and filings.

Double Materiality Assessment (DMA)

  • Lead Double Materiality Assessment, identifying and assessing On’s impacts, risks, and opportunities (IROs) across the entire value chain.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement (e.g. sustainability, talent, legal, etc.) and identification cycles to ensure timely identification/updates of impact and financial materiality topics, to ensure the DMA remains a dynamic reflection of On’s business strategy and external impact.
  • Translate DMA findings into reporting priorities and strategic insights, ensuring that material topics are supported by robust metrics and qualitative narratives.
  • Advise leadership on emerging risks and opportunities that impact financial performance, capital allocation, and enterprise risk management.

Data Governance & Internal Controls

  • Establish a "Financial-Grade" control environment for non-financial data, partnering with Internal Controls to work with the relevant business partners (e.g. Sustainability, Talent, IT) to ensure data accuracy, traceability, and audit-readiness.
  • Implement a robust global non-financial data governance framework that defines data ownership, collection protocols, validation procedures, and audit trails.
  • Drive a culture of data accountability across the organization through stakeholder engagement, guidance and leveraging AI and other technological enablers that makes reporting part of how teams operate.
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors for the assurance of non-financial disclosures, ensuring all reported metrics are backed by verifiable evidence.

Cross-Cutting

  • Act as the subject matter expert on the evolving landscape of NFR transparency and corporate accountability that might impact our reporting or competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations on investor inquiries, earnings calls, and rating agency submissions (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, etc.)
  • Support Board and Audit Committee reporting on non-financial reporting, risks, and strategic direction.
  • Represent our function in internal governance forums and external stakeholder engagements related to sustainability disclosures.
  • Contribute to the development of the team’s broader strategy as the reporting function scales alongside the business and lead/mentor the NFR team, providing hands-on guidance and clear strategic direction to foster their growth within a high-performance environment.

    Your story

    • 10+ years of experience in external reporting (with at least 3 years in sustainability reporting), audit, sustainability consulting, or a related discipline, ideally in a fast-growing, international environment (retail/consumer products a plus), with at least 3 years in a leadership role
    • Strong working knowledge of NFR standards/frameworks (e.g. Swiss Code of Obligations, CSRD/ESRS, GRI, or SASB) and experience in conducting DMAs.
    • Strong understanding of data governance, internal controls, audit readiness, and assurance processes.
    • Hands-on. You thrive in the detail, embed yourself with the teams, and drive complex reporting initiatives through to completion.
    • Strategic builder. Proven track record leading a NFR or have played a pivotal role in supporting the establishment and scale-up of a reporting function; you thrive in environments where you are building the playbook, not just following one.
    • Collaborative and approachable. You build trust by understanding others and earning influence through partnership and strategic project management.
    • Managing Stakeholder Complexity. You possess the leadership skills required to navigate an environment with multiple stakeholders and differing agendas. You have the ability to manage competing priorities and influence outcomes across Finance, Sustainability, Legal, and Operations to drive a unified reporting strategy.
    • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders, translating technical reporting requirements into clear, business-relevant language.
    • An entrepreneurial mindset—you thrive in environments where you’re building something new, not just maintaining existing processes, and have the ability to develop and implement NFR strategy
    • Fluency in English

    About the Team

You’ll be joining the Accounting, Risk & Reporting (ARR) function, which sits at the heart of On’s transparent reporting efforts. We are responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial and non-financial data, working closely with senior leadership and teams across every function and geography. The NFR team is a lean, high-impact team that works closely with sustainability, legal, communication, talent and other functions. We value rigour, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for action. We don’t hide behind frameworks, we build them, challenge them, and make them work in practice.
