In short

The Senior Lead, Digital Product Manager role will report to Director Digital Product for E-merchandising Platform within the Commercial Platforms product team. You will lead the technical evolution of the platform powering search, personalization, and product recommendations across our web and app surfaces. By treating internal consumer-facing teams as our customers and successfully integrating solutions, you will transform our digital storefront infrastructure into an asset that drives global commercial growth.

Your Mission

  • Platform Vision: Drive the roadmap for an extensible, API-first e-merchandising platform enabling real-time personalization, advanced search, and recommendation capabilities
  • SaaS & Vendor Management: Act as the technical and strategic lead for third-party e-commerce SaaS vendor integrations - evaluating capabilities and designing clean integration patterns
  • Systems Thinking: Design composable platform capabilities, ensuring upstream platform modifications and data schemas cascade seamlessly across down-stream consumer experiences
  • Technical Enablement: Turn complex business requirements into technical PRDs, architecting solutions using APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
  • Stakeholder management: Treat internal engineering and consumer product teams as your primary customers, ensuring platform tools, documentation, and APIs are intuitive and robust
  • Trade-offs: Clearly communicate technical risks, scalability, implementation costs, and timelines to negotiate priority lines with both engineering and business stakeholders

    Your story

    • You have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a platform or infrastructure Product Manager, specifically building tools, APIs, and capabilities for internal teams rather than end-users directly
    • You are comfortable navigating complex system architectures (APIs, microservices, event-driven networks) and familiarity working directly with Engineering teams to define architecture
    • You have exceptional communication skills with a knack for bridging the gap and building consensus between technical engineering teams and commercial stakeholders
    • You have a proven ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and finite engineering capacity, with comfort defining the path forward
    • You have a strong understanding of e-commerce systems, particularly the mechanics of search, personalization, pricing, or recommendation engines
    • You have hands-on experience evaluating, integrating, and managing external e-commerce or technical SaaS vendors, with the ability to translate between vendor requirements and internal needs
    • Systems Thinker: You have the ability to see the big picture and understand how a single platform modification impacts multiple interconnected downstream systems and consumer teams
    • Collaborative Communicator: You are capable of translating complex technical architectures into clear business value for commercial leaders, and vice versa
    • Growth-Oriented & Composed: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, safely navigating ambiguity and driving internal platform adoption with a mentor-like mindset

    About the Team

You will be part of our E-merchandising Platform team, part of the Commercial Technology Core Cluster. This function partners closely with our backend engineering team and works cross-functionally with Consumer Experience, Data Science, and Commercial teams. Together, you will abstract technical complexity to empower internal teams to experiment, learn, and rapidly evolve On's digital shopping experiences.
