The Group Brand Strategy Lead at On drives our campaign creative briefing process, impacts our core brand strategy documents that guide the marketing org, and supports our head of campaign management and Group Creative Directors on ensuring the work that goes out into the world delivers on strategy.

This role is tasked with elevating our overall strategic output. That means evolving and improving how we brief, upleveling our research, and improving our overall process. Most importantly, it means leading a team of four brand strategists, developing their talents, and upleveling the output of the group.

Your Mission

  • Sharpen Our Briefs: Elevate the creative briefs we deliver, by setting the standard and guiding the team. That starts with cross-functional strategic planning, which means you need to understand our full range of touchpoints, and it requires you to also evolve how we do research ourselves and in partnership with other teams.
  • Deep passion for product and understanding our consumer is a must here.
  • Drive Campaign Excellence: Ensure the briefs we build lead to great creative work that delivers results, by partnering closely with our head of campaign management and our Group Creative Leads.
  • Refine the Brand: Partner with key stakeholders to improve core brand documents so that our brand is understood across the organization, globally.

Your story

On emphasizes hands-on skills across all departments. For this role, we’re looking for an individual who excels at brief writing, research, planning, collaboration and storytelling. You need to know how to inspire creative and unearth insights that can drive a marketing process. You also need to know how to develop talent - to help strategists within the org take the next steps on their journey.

You see yourself as a collaborative person, and understand the value of strong opinions, healthy debate, and the need to move forward as a team. You bring your experience to the conversations, as well as your passion and knowledge. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and build trust with empowered decision-makers is essential.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 7+ years of experience either brand or agency side in a strategy role.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role, leading teams.
  • Multiple years of experience working on sportswear brand at a brand or agency side
  • A higher education degree (bachelor or above) in Business Administration, Marketing or any other related field; or similar experience
  • Experience running a wide variety of marketing programs, campaigns, and launches that have successfully scaled globally and across channels
  • Curious personality who likes to challenge the status quo, has a drive to constantly improve and a passion for innovation: Staying up to date on new, innovative media activations, ideas, and platforms that would appeal to our target consumer
  • Strategic mind balanced with a hands on entrepreneurial approach
  • The confidence to think and act independently
  • An understanding of youth culture and mindset
  • A passion for the sportswear industry
  • Strong belief that most problems are actually opportunities
  • Good presentation skills, comfortable presenting to large groups

About the Team

You’re part of the brand strategy team at On, and will lead a team of four strategists, reporting into you. You will engage laterally across the organization with teams including corporate strategy, product strategy, and commercial strategy. And you will often partner with brand media, digital media, and retail teams to ensure our briefs deliver a connected journey across touch points.
